All vehicle rentals in Bexhill are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Bexhill, you must be at least 21 years of age, though age limits may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Bexhill office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally payable at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, with the exception of normal wear and tear. You are liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited uses of the vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes engaging in racing, rallying, or off-roading, as well as transporting hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside designated geographical boundaries without prior consent are also forbidden.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bexhill will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
